NEW OBSESSION ALERT

You know what I'm like, I find a trend and style that I like and then I am all over it and lets face it I'm still not over tassel earrings.... I still keep buying them...

Sooo.. whats my latest obsession you ask?..Well, its Check....

Forget the whole 'Stripes for Life'..... Autumn is all about 'Check For Life'

My wardrobe seems to be filling up rather rapidly with check shirts and check shirt dresses.... and these are just two of my recent additions and they are
BOTH from Yours Clothing AND they are BOTH gorgeous shades of plum, and we all know that along with mustard yellow, browns and greens these shades means autumn.

First up, this , fun fact...although this is supposed to be a shirt,  I can wear it as a dress... there are some perks to being a short arse...RESULT

I love the fit on this and the flare, its really roomy too, I actually sized down

This is just the perfect fun autumnal daytime outfit and I have worn it so much since I bought it, in fact a few of you have already said you purchased it after seeing my instagram photo and a couple of the girls at work have said they are going to buy it on payday, so I'll  be twinning with my work buddies soon :)

They also do it in , which I think will soon be added to the collection

NEXT UP....

Yeeeee Haaaaa this has all the country feels.
One check shirt,  one pair of and some knee high boots and I feel like I want to go to a country festival

This I have to say comes up a bit smaller than what I would like, and I sized up twice just to get that roomy look and even then its still a bit snug so be mindful of that.

But that aside I actually really love this look, I will definitely be teaming it up with a fur gilet when it starts to get a bit colder.

There's just something about a check shirt that can look casual, yet classy depending how you accessorise, for instance lets go back to statement earrings that I am obsessed with,
they just give it that little somat somat...

Both looks have been teamed with these wide fit ruched that are sooooo comfy, as you can probably tell by the photo's  have been wearing them a lot.
The XL Calf fitting on these are fantastic, I have particularly large calves and can struggle with some side zips, but these are just perfect and zip up like a dream

What are your Autumn Obsessions lately? Maybe I'll find another trend to get addicted too with your suggestions.

What happens when your friend comes over to stay for the weekend, well, firstly you spend quality time together, secondly you drink wine and beer, thirdly you eat pasta oh... and then you stand in a field and get her to take blog photo's that look like you're running for president - LOVE IT

Seriously though, this whole outfit is from Yours Clothing, and I love it, its so comfy casual.

This stretchy black is super comfortable and it has pockets!!!
Who doesn't love a dress with pockets right ladies?

Whilst I've opted for a more relaxed look, this black dress can totally be dressed up with heels,
jacket and statement necklace.

But I really like the more casual look, complete with cropped and

and can we talk about the bag, this is so cute right?
I flippin love it, and its really spacious too.
It also comes in pastel pink and purple and they are so cute.

Isn't a good photographer, I think she needs to come an visit more often just for the photo's lol!!

Here are a few more of my favourites.....

Did you catch the latest weekend vlog?

Let me know what your favourite comfy casuals are?

Also, I totally need to run for president now, esp in that first picture right? haha!!

So last weekend was eventful, it seems my tweet to New Look on Friday questioning pricing differences between the Main, Tall and Curve Range has caused a bit of a stir.

The Daily Mail picked up on it and wrote an article about it, prompting the lovely Katie Hopkins to troll me..... what a sweetie she is..... *note sarcastic tone*

And then The Sun also decided to run a story on it.

I have refrained from reading the comments, because as per the norm with things like this you get narrow minded people that are quick to spout off about weight and how I must really like chips (fun fact i'm not a big fan of chip, lol) and that I should spend the extra money on a gym membership not a new top yadda yadda....same ol drivvle.

But sadly while these people were quick to jump on the 'she's fat what does she expect'  bandwagon they actually missed the point completely.

My argument was that a top that I liked in the main range was £7.99, the same top in the tall section was £19.99 and then a similar top in the curve section was £22.99. The price difference was between £12-£15 are we being penalised for being taller, or bigger? How do they work out their pricing structure? The argument of more fabric I can get on board with to a certain extent.

A couple of pounds here and there sure, but £15 MORE!!! NO!!! I'm not having it!!

There is a lot more fabric between the sizes of 8 and 18 but the price is still the same, what about petite people, if we are going on the amount of fabric premise they are they paying less?

The pricing structures baffled me and so I merely wrote a tweet asking them to explain and the media got hold of it. and actually I'm pleased they did as it needed to be highlighted, they also found other price differences so something needs to be explained here!!

So many of you are with me, and agree so thanks thanks guys!!!

At present (Wednesday night - 6 days later) I haven't had any explanation from New Look, I had a generic type email advising they would look into it and someone from their complaints team will be in touch within a week - well time is ticking by so I wonder if I will EVER get an explanation?
Who knows, but I'm not sorry I brought this to everyone attention, even Katie bloody Hopkins!!

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it's a Fat Tax? Is it down to Supply and Demand? or just plain exploitation?

I'd love to know your thoughts?

If you haven't seen I mention it in this weeks weekend vlog, you can check it out below:

Let me tell you about last Friday....

Myself and Chris were very kindly invited to one of the BST Hyde park Gigs, these concerts happen every year in Hyde Park over a sucession of 10 days where they draw in some AMAZING artists, last year I went to see Take That if you remember that

Anyhow this year, well..... this year I got very excited as one of my absolute idols was there Phil Collins.

I have hearted Phil Collins since I can even remember, my dad used to play his songs over and over, I can’t even tell you how many times I have seen the film Buster. I even loved him that much I wanted to learn how to play the drums, much to my parents dismay (it never happened- dammit)

And so to me Friday was about transporting me back to my childhood, those happy carefree days of sitting in Dad’s Nissan Terrano singing along to Suuu suuuu Suuuusudiooooo.... OH OH!!!

And boy he didn’t disappoint, from the moment the chords of ‘Another Day in Paradise’ started playing I could feel my eyes well up..... I wished my Dad could see this now, I wished he could be there, but I like to think he was, watching and singing along in heaven.

I had my bestest company of Chris with me though, who happens to also love Phil too – result!!!

We had the best afternoon just mooching around the different activities, getting selfies and gifs done at the Coke and Samsung Stands, having a cider in the sun, drinking in the atmosphere and just spending some quality time together.
We saw Mike & The Mechanics play – minus Paul Carrack, but Roachford did a great stand in, The New Power Generation were there with their funky moves and Blondie was on before Phil – Debbie Harry is pretty blimmin rockin for...72.... wow!!!

There was plenty of food stalls with lots of choice, but be mindful prices are expensive (£20 for two chicken and halloimi wraps) but I guess thats the norm for festivals right?

The outfit that I chose to wear, well I decided to channel my inner 80’s and went for a mix of Karen from Bananarama and SJP blazer esq pre SITC and I think its looked pretty cool...

The and are from Joanie Clothing, are Simply Be, Yours and Evans

We had such a fantastic time and can't wait to go back next year.

Huge Thanks to BST Hyde Park & Outside Org for making my Phil Collins Dreams come true.

You can catch some of the day on my latest weekend vlog.

Guys, it’s time to be honest. I fell out of love with my blog, it was a slow burn, but if you are a regular reader then you will notice that my posts have been few and far between, averaging between one and two posts a month, if that.
To call myself is blogger right now would be a big fat pinocchio nosed lie!!!
In simple terms, I have just felt a bit lost, I have been in a rut of knowing what content to put out there and not just here but even over on my YT channel (the place where I am much more proactive – two videos a week, thank you very much, smug face
But the thing I have been struggling the most with is...
Who I am online?
To coin a phase from Nikki from Big Brother Circa 2006
WHO IS SHE???

Even I don’t know....
How do people see me? What I should be? What do I think I am? Am I a Blogger? A Vlogger?
A Fashion Blogger? A Plus Size Blogger? A Lifestyle Blogger? A Beauty Blogger, A Beauty Vlogger, A Food Blogger, An Infertility Blogger, Vlogger... vlogger, vlogger, blogger, blogger, vlogger blogger.... gaaaah you get the gist...?
SO MANY LABELS!!!
Do I have to conform to one thing? Do I have to be just ONE thing online?
Why do we have to label ourselves in the blogging world? It’s given me such a headache and actually made me a little bit sad. I’m not one thing, I’m lots of things.
But which community do I slot into? Can I be part of them all? It’s so confusing
I guess all I can do is what I do best and just BE ME
It’s all I know how to be.
I am a mid thirty something, wife, daughter, sister, friend.

I love fashion that will fit my frame, and at present I refer to myself as a Plus Size Fashion Blogger I follow trends, and like to promote body positivity and confidence, yet I wouldn’t say I’m an activist.
But I  also love make up, I apply it to the best of my ability I have no skills, so I’m not really a Beauty Blogger?
I love spending time with my friends of all different backgrounds who all have different hobbies and interests, am I a Family Blogger?
I struggle with infertility and talk about it sometimes and I also love hearing about mummy adventures from my friends with children.
I am a country music lover and singer (occasionally) Music Blogger?
I love going to the cinema... Film Blogger?
I am a tea drinker who these days would prefer a night in with a takeaway over a night out and yet when I do go out I def go OUT OUT.
I love cooking (except baking I’m utter shit at baking and cake decorating) yet I love to try new foods and going to new restaurants. Food Blogger?
I love to go on adventures with my amazing husband, family and friends...Travel Blogger?
oh and I adore my dog, Pet Blogger? lol......
Y’See how confusing it is? I mean.....  how do you label all that? I actually don’t feel like I want to label it? Or should I?..... As I said earlier, do I just pick one thing and just write about that?
don’t want to though... *stamps feet*
I’m not competitive in any shape or form and don’t strive to be, the best at this, or the best at that.... I just like sharing bits of my whole life with you...
And so here is where my element of confusion comes in.... in social media terms, would you say I am a now a lifestyle blogger/vlogger? I just don’t know???? Help me out guys!!!?
I guess what I’m trying to say is, things are a changing over here on the blog, I want to be more proactive I want to write about anything and everything, and the only person stopping me doing that was me because I didn’t (and still don’t)  know what to ‘label’ myself.
However, from today onwards I pinky promise that I will write more content over here and regardless of whatever flippin label I should or shouldn’t be using I will just continue to BE ME if that OK with you all?
You can catch up on my latest being me shenanigans on this weeks, weekend vlog.
Hope you enjoy.

SOUND THE CLAXON THERE ONLY 8 WEEKS TILL CHRISTMAS!!!

8 WEEKS PEOPLE!!!

Time to start thinking of Christmas shopping!!

We started ours last weekend and every year I always feel slightly overwhelmed with what to get people.
I write list upon lists, I scroll the internet trying to think of the perfect gift but sometimes my mind draws a blank and I'm someone that likes to think I'm pretty good at gift giving.

But then I discovered Gift Box UK, they are a exactly what it says in the title....
They create personalised Gift Boxes, all you need to to is provide them with a brief overview of the person or occasion you are buying for, what your budget is and they create something special and personal.

Gift Box UK is a family run business based in Wales and I truly admire independent business that start from scratch and take a leap of faith in something they are passionate about and I will always be on board with supporting that.

They very kindly sent me one of their packages as an example just to show you guys
and just look how cute it was all packaged up.

This a festive bundle came complete with Christmas Decorations, Christmas Scents as well as relaxing bath bomb, cute scarf not to mention this quirky tin crown that everything came contained in which we have already decided we are going to use it at Christmas to put all the chocolate coins in      (everybody has chocolate coins at christmas right?!!)

You can also find examples of other gift boxes  that they have created over on their instagram page

These are a few of my particular favourites

As you can see these guys really do take the hassle out of gift buying so if you are stuck for a Christmas or a Birthday gift then get in there early in fact I have already ordered a special birthday gift box from them already.

Make sure you go and check them out and also on their

I have suffered with insomnia for a good few years now, its become almost normal for me.

I get a few weeks of good sleep then BAM insomnia strikes, its's just awful. I lie awake, I toss and turn, I get the fidgets. I desperately want to sleep but my body and brain won't let me.

I have been struggling to function on as little as 1 hours sleep at a time. It's really not been great.

I have tried all sorts, camomile tea, no technology an hour before bed, reading a book before bed, no caffeine, mindful apps.
Some work but only seems short term.

This past couple of weeks I have been at my wits end, the lack of sleep has really been taking its toll, esp when you have so much to do what with moving house.

I mentioned it in one of my daily vlogs... see below

So many people recommend this Sleepy lotion from Lush.
It' s had great reviews online, it's been in the news and it's flying off the shelf.

Was it all hype? I had to investigate... I ordered some ready to try and OH MY!!! I actually slept!!

And I have been sleeping so well because of it (as I type 4 nights in a row... woo hoo)
and so I  just HAD to write about it.

This really is magic cream, does it contain magic pixie sleeping dust in it?
No its just a mixture of lavender water and cocoa butter.

When you first open it you mainly smell cocoa butter with a bit of lavender, but once rubbed into the skin the smell of lavender just takes over your senses and its sooooo soft too.

I'm not really a great fan of lavender, but this, this has a really pleasant lavender smell, I think its due to the mix with the cocoa butter.

A lot of people have been wondering how I use it, and where on the body and I've opted for arms (all over) chest and neck so the lavender aroma drifts up to my senses. I
have also applied it to my feet as they say the feet are very suseptable to attributing to health.
Hands up who puts vicks on their feet when they have a cold!!?

And so, in summary I would say this £13.95 tub of Sleepy Lotion is the BEST investment I have made in a long time.

You can purchase Sleepy Lotion

Hey!!

It feels like forever since I did an Outfit Post, but last weekend whilst in London and having fellow blogger with me to take photos, plus a funky graffiti background it was kinda rude of us not to take some outfit shots esp as I was wearing my most worn top of the moment, my bomber style popper shirt from River Island Plus.

(Check me out trying  to be all moody and bloggery, haha fail!!)

I actually got this top in the sale for £17 and I loved it that much I actually bought two, one as a back up for just in casies..... Does anyone else do this?

I just love the colour, the print and the style.
It has an oversized element  about it and so is quite generous size wise.

It looks good just thrown over a cami top and jeans, but I have also worn this for work with a black skirt and boots

River Island is seriously becoming one of my favourite places to shop, they are seriously on point with their plus range.

This top is still available AND its now only a tenner so grab it while you still can.. I will leave the link

As most of you will know if you follow me on social media, I'm having a bit of a You Tube break for this month, lots of things have been building up, I haven't been in the best health (and just this week alone I picked up some god awful cough/cold/virus) and so I had to do what felt right for me and take some time out and just chill, not think about videos, daily vlogging etc... think about what was best for me.

Do you know whats been good for me lately during my downtime..... hanging out with some of my most favourite people.

It often makes me sad that most of my best friends are scattered all around the country and you have to strategically plan sometimes months in advance to see them. Life just gets busy.

However one of my very best friends isn't quite so far away, Becky lives about a 10 min drive from me, but ironically we don't see each other as often as we'd like. We both have demanding jobs, Becky also has two girlies (my beautiful godchildren) and so getting our schedules to work can prove tricky, but when they do its great!!

When you blog or vlog, people assume you just hang out with your blogger friends and sure some of my best friends I have met are through that, and admitedly they are the ones that mainly appear in my videos and social media cause they 'get it' and they don't mind being involved.

But guess what, not all of my friends I have are from social media and blogging, believe it or not,
I actually had a life before this little blog and You Tube, I know right!!!! ;)

I have friends from school, friends from work, friends that you meet through other friends and just hit it off and its nice to spend time with them and reminisce and chat about normal day to day stuff.
Its good for the soul.

So when Curvissa asked me to take part in their #FeelGood campaign I just knew this was the perfect way to do one thing that really does make me happy and Feel Good and that is, to chill out with my bestie.

We're both at an age now where we don't really go clubbing.
I mean don't get me wrong its nice getting all dressed up and go out every so often, but its the nights in with your comfy clothes on, a bottle of wine and a takeaway where you can just kick back, relax and put the world to rights in the comfort of your own home that are the nicest.
No club noise, no spending lots of money on cocktails, just you and your friend, yummy food and non stop uninterrupted chatter.

Our comfy cosy clothes were very kindly gifted by Curvissa, I'm wearing the and Becky is wearing the , both super comfy, perfect for those lounging nights in.

Our feet were also night and toasty in the and the

We had such a lovely evening and its just nice to do the things that make you feel happy and feel good.

Thanks to and Thanks to my wonderful friends like Becky that help me in so many ways but mainly just by being there for me. I feel very lucky.

What makes you Feel Good?

A couple of weeks ago I joined my local gym.

I had wanted to do it for sometime but something always held me back. FEAR.
Fear of what you ask?
Fear of being laughed at, fear of being the fattest person there, fear of being judged, fear of being stared at........ laughed at even.

I had been a member of this gym YEARS ago, but life happened, I lost my drive and desire to spend time doing work outs and became complacent. But I longed to get it back.
Over the years when confidence was an all time low I would think, I know I will just work out at home - NEWSFLASH it never happened. I know, I'll start running at night around my local field - NEWSFLASH I hurt my knee oh and it was raining.

I WAS MAKING EXCUSES!!!!
Till a few weeks ago when something just clicked.....
Who cares if they stare, who cares if I am the fattest person there, I'm trying and that's what counts right?
I filled out the forms and waited for my induction.

That was two weeks ago and I am LOVING it!!!
I hope to get back that person that loved exercise and to get my fitness levels back up.

Wish me luck!!!

What I'm trying to say, is don't let fear get in the way of things you want to do, if you want to do something just DO IT.
I spoke about my thoughts in this weeks Tea With E which I will leave the link for below.

Let me know your thoughts on this?

You may have seen on my instagram stories a couple of weekends ago my friend came over and I wanted to do something creative and get in the festive spirit and so we went pottery painting at
A Splash Of Colour in Salisbury.

Pottery painting is really theraputic, there is no right or wrong, you just let your paintbrush do the talking and create whatever you like

It's was more exciting as they had all their Christmas pottery in so we were able to get festive, even in late October :)

So we both decided to paint a tree decoration

and then Lindsay opted for a tea light and I spied this cute sweet dish that I just knew I had to have it.

After our creative afternoon we went for lunch and a lovely walk around Salisbury Cathedral
and this is where I get to show you my gorgeous new coat from Studio 8

This is the and I adore it!!!

The 3/4 soft flare shape is really flattering to my figure, balancing out my shape.

and the navy colour is just so chic and stylish and a real staple colour

The blend of wool and cashmere mix make is super warm and cosy esp with the lining
so it is perfect for the colder months

It's definetly one of my new go to coats for both day and and night.

Make sure you go and check out , they have some gorgeous bits for
Christmas Party Season.

Who remembers the time when bloggers used to meet up randomly?
Not as part of a PR event or Press Day, but just met up to talk all things Bloggery or You Tube or y'know... make friends?

When I first started blogging 5 years ago I still remember the first blogger meet up I plucked up the courage to go to was in 2013, you can read that post .

It was a group of approx 30x of us in a bar in London just meeting, chatting, having a few drinks and getting to know each other, we had a really cute goodie bag and some yummy cake pops and I just remember it being a really lovely afternoon.

I have organised a couple of smaller events in the past and just lately I have been reminising back to these good old days and I really miss it.

It was so nice to just meet like minded people and be social and its something I want to recreate again if anyone would be up for it?

I'm thinking London or Birmingham, somewhere easy for people to get to if public transport is required (like myself) and the date I am thinking Saturday Dec 2nd for a couple of hours in the late morning/early afternoon, leaving everyone then free to enjoy the rest of their day.
I'd love to know if anyone would be interested in this?

There's no specific blog genre ... just a meeting of minds over a few mulled wines?
And maybe even a secret santa thrown in for festive spirit?
What do you think??

If you're interested then drop me an email to:

Last week I was very kindly invited to Salisbury Playhouse to see the show Great Odds.
The show is a production aimed for children aged 6-11 years old and is based on friendship and communication.

Being as it was half term here in the South West it was a perfect opportunity to take my goddaughter on a little theatre treat however due to timings of the show I had to work and so her mummy and my bestie Becky went in my place and it gave them the perfect Mummy/Daughter afternoon which was lovely.

The show is written by Ester McAuley and the story as per their summary online is:

Exploring ambition, communication and friendship, the story follows the Great Odds; Marco, Grouch and Jewels, on an exciting and sometimes wobbly journey... Dreams change shape, unexpected things are uncovered and success comes through surprising discoveries.

Integrating visual storytelling, British Sign Language, live music, sound and puppetry, Mac's Arcadian presents Great Odds, its first play, in co- production with Lighthouse Poole, supported by Improbable.

The main factors of the production is to showcase different methods of communication, including sign language and music and when I asked Becky how the show was, she said that my goddaughter absolutely loved it and really took on board all the different forms of communication without even thinking about it, it just came naturally which shows how adaptable children really are.
They had front row seats in a small theatre and she really enjoyed being on the same level as the stage which made it less intimidating which gave her the confidence to get involved and call out when asked questions.

Great Odds is still touring and have a few show's left around the country so if you are looking for a fun, interactive thought provoking show for kids then have a check on the Mac-Arcadian website to book tickets for the rest of the tour, the following dates are left:

So if they  coming to a town near you then grab a ticket.

I will leave the rehearsal trailer about the show below so you can see for yourself, but click on the Mac-Arcadian website to see the proper trailer.

Can you guess what my favourite colour is at the moment?
Any ideas ;)

I have developed a love of yellow as of late, the colour just makes me happy
and I think it suits me if I do say so myself.

Today I'm sharing with you three of my favourite yellow tops from .

The first one is this , which is the cutest.... you all know kimonos and longline blouses are my favourite and this fits into my collection perfectly...

Its just so easy to throw on over the top of a cami and jeans and it instantly brightens up your outfit.

Next up, this floral print , if you'd have said to me this time last year I'd be wearing a cold shoulder top I would of said no way hosay.

I was totally over the cold shoulder trend, it was literally EVERYWHERE, but I'm actually starting to warm to it again and this the cold shoulder on this top is actually quite
subtle and I love the pink floral print.

And finally..... BARDOT...

I will never get bored of the bardot trend, never ever EVER!!
I just adore this , its slightly different with the thin straps, the print is the cutest and I just love the frill style on the chest.

Its the perfect summers day top.

Whats your colour of the summer?
Mine is clearly yellow..... and I will continue to love it until the
autumn mustard yellows come around.... Autumn is coming and I'm excited ;)

The new generation office dress code
You’ve aced the interview and landed your dream job. Now, you’re about to face an even bigger challenge: mastering the office dress code.
It’s no secret that work wear has relaxed over the years. Rewind 20 years and the office dress code was all about power dressing; we’re talking formal suits, smart blouses and an almost exclusively monochrome colour palette.
Nowadays, our busy lives mean we need a working wardrobe that can seamlessly transition between our work and play. The office dress code has relaxed, giving rise to a new wave of super-stylish professionals who look just as good at work as they do catching up with the girls.
However, it’s a difficult look to master. Go too casual and you risk an awkward chat with your manager about dressing appropriately, while a formal outfit may be too much.

So how do you strike the balance?
Thankfully, QUIZ Clothing, retailers of office-ready dresses, has shared their tips for mastering the new generation office dress code:
Dresses
Of course, there will always be a place for dresses in your working wardrobe. They’re super easy to style and they suit both smarter and more relaxed dress codes.
If your new workplace still has a formal dress code, choose a simple and chic midi dress. Stay away from lace, bold prints or bright colours as they can make you look like you’re dressed for a night out instead of a day in the office! Stick to plain styles or subtle prints for versatile looks you can work throughout the year.
In more relaxed workplaces, stick to casual . Jumper dresses will work well through autumn and winter when paired with tights and heeled ankle boots. Shirt dresses are another great choice, as their collar will naturally make them feel smarter.

Trousers & tailoring
The power suit may be a thing of the past but you can still be a girl boss with the right tailoring. Trousers are having a moment right now, so make sure you have a few great pairs in your wardrobe for those days when you need to look effortlessly chic.
Tapered trousers are essential. They’ll hug your figure and subtly show off your shape, and will look great with both smart flats and heels. Wear your flats day-to-day and switch them for heels for that all-important meeting. Trust us, your feet will thank us!
Culottes and frill hem trousers can also be worn but because they’re such bold styles, you’ll need to make sure they’re office appropriate. Just like dresses, shy away from bolder prints and colours and stick to classic checks and stripes.
When it comes to what to wear your trousers with, you’re spoilt for choice! For a more casual look, wear them with a loose-fitting plain t-shirt and slouchy cardigan or plain jumper. Loosely tuck the hem of your top into your trousers at the front. To create a formal look, swap the t-shirt for a smart blouse — an embroidered shirt would be the perfect choice for an on-trend look.

Jeans
Wearing jeans to the office would be unthinkable 20 years ago. Nowadays, it’s perfectly acceptable to wear denim to the office — but only if you know how to style it right.
If you are to wear jeans to work, it goes without saying that you’ll need to choose more reserved styles. Arriving on your first day in slashed jeans is a big no-no, so keep it classic with plain, rip-free denim. It’s wise to choose a darker wash to give a more formal vibe.
Keep the rest of your outfit smart to avoid letting your look stray too far into off-duty territory. Pair your jeans with a smart-casual shirt or blouse and wear with more formal flats and a chic blazer.
Of course, if your company has a strict dress code, you may not be able to wear jeans at all, so it’s well worth enquiring before your start date to avoid any fashion faux pas!
Shoes
We’ve already briefly mentioned shoes but, as they can make or break an outfit, we thought we’d give them their own section! Overall, you have three main choices when it comes to work shoes: flats, boots and heels.

First up, flats. Loafers are a huge trend at the moment, which is good news for all you professionals! Smart yet stylish, they’re the perfect work shoe that can be worn with trousers, dresses and jeans. You’ll definitely need black loafers, and it’s wise to invest in a nude pair too.
As autumn winter creeps ever nearer, boots are another great option. Over knee boots teamed with a jumper dress and tights is an on trend look for winter 2017. Heeled boots are also a great option, as they’re both formal and versatile, although flat boots can also work.
Heels are perhaps the trickiest of all of our work footwear choices. You’ll need to choose a sensible heel, so leave the sky-scraping platforms at home for work. That doesn’t mean you have to wear kitten heels though; mid-heeled, closed-toe shoes are the perfect choice. Strappy sandals are your perfect day to night office choice – team with wide leg trousers for a chic daytime look.

The changing work dress code is your chance to show off your style queen status.
Get your look right and you’ll be the office fashionista in no time!

Love Em xx

You may have seen, this week we had Mental Health Awareness Day, a day to stop and make people think about Mental Health in all its forms.

Now, although I've never been diagnosed with anything I know in myself there have been moments in my life where I have suffered. Moments where I have had some real lows and bouts of panic and anxiety and as of late its really made me stop and think as to how I suffer and also how well I hide it.

On the outside for the most part I am a happy and upbeat person. I am perky and ever the optimistic  the enthusiastic one out of my friends you could say, to everyone else I can seem fine, but sometimes I'm not.

Sometimes you can be the surrounded by people and seem outwardly happy but inside you feel lonely, lost and anxious.

I was lucky I never suffered whilst I was younger, my triggers started later on, namely when we first started going through our first round of fertility treatment. You are pumped full of hormones and then you have the procedure thinking it could actually change your life and then when it doesn't work you are just left to carry on.... its almost like you have to grieve for something that you never had and I had a lot of trouble processing that. I was a mess, I felt like a failure, less of a woman, panicked, paranoid, tearful, low... you name it. I took some time off work and had to rebuild myself back up stronger for the next time round. Then the next time came and went and again when it didn't work, although I was stronger and I guess more prepared, it still hit me like a tonne of bricks.
After that treatment they made some discoveries and I was diagnosed with a few things, given steroids, I put on weight, I felt worthless, people around me were having children and I just felt .... well... empty, mentally aswell as physically!!

I was at my lowest ebb, yet to the naked eye of someone else I was completely fine, the same old Em, but to the people who see me having a laugh and a joke they don't see the Em that's sat sobbing, wondering what she'd done to deserve this, literally begging Chris to leave me and find someone else to have a family with. Thankfully he didn't take my begging seriously and has been a tower of strength for me over the years and its what I love about him the most as he has been the one that's helped create my safe haven, he's been the one to dry my tears, to pick me up off the floor when I've collapsed and cried, dealt with mood swings, supported me when I have been so crippled with anxiety that I haven't been able to leave the house and most importantly told me I'm not useless, or less of a woman or any of the things thats I used to beat myself up about on a daily basis.

I feel very lucky that I have had the support I needed to help me overcome my issues, although when I say 'overcome', I mean for now... these feelings don't just go away, they are still there bubbling in the background waiting to resurface and manifest by any manner of triggers.

For example, you may know that I am taking a little You Tube break at the moment, I started to feel anxious about creating daily videos, I have had a lot going on health wise again and lots of horrible symptoms and those bubbles of anxiety that had been contained at the back, I could feel them starting to erupt and so I knew I had to be kinder to myself, something had to give and that was my channel, its only a hobby after all, much like this little blog and I know that when I start to get triggers its a sign to slow down a bit, put on the breaks and take some time out.

I've had so much going on in my life lately the biggest thing was moving house and during that time  as well as dealing with other things and working full time I still vlogged everyday, I still created content daily, I still sat up for hours editing. I did this because I loved it, but do I love it enough for it to be detrimental to my health???

Someone actually said to me 'You Can't Pour From And Empty Cup' and how true this is.
You have to restore the balance in all areas, mentally and physically and so by taking a break its allows me to my clear head so I can overcome hurdles one by one rather than feel like I have the weight of the world on my chest.

MH Awareness is so important, so many people suffer  in so many different ways and sadly it can be in silence for fear and stigma. It's an invisible illness and just because you can't see blood or a bone sticking out doesn't mean its not there or any less painful. I'm so very lucky that I have a wonderful supportive family, others may not have this and seek help by way of the Dr or Support Groups or CBT.
If you are suffering and feel you need to reach out and talk to someone then I urge you to do so.
Don't suffer alone, there is help out there.

I think what I'm trying to say in my long ramble is, everyone faces some kind of battle, life isn't easy. Some days are good, some days are bad but we all need to remember to be kind an compassionate to one another because sometimes we really don't know the secret battles each individual faces every day.

I THINK SOCIAL MEDIA IS MAKING ME FEEL BAD ABOUT MYSELF, there I said it!!
I’m not in a good place at the moment, I had high hopes of doing more writing like I said in my last post, but have I been able to muster up words, no... not yet...
I’ve been in a real funk lately and can’t seem to shake myself out of it, on the surface I appear OK and I’m keeping busy, doing well in my job, keeping busy with my family and friend, going to events etc.. but inwardly I am actually a ball of self doubt constantly.
In fact I did a little insta story about how I’m feeling the other day and it seems lots of you are actually feeling the same.
Apparently Mercury is in Retrograde so this can alter moods.... who knew!!?
I’ve never been one for believing all that, even if I did for years buy one of those star sign books that gave you a horoscope daily – fun fact they still sell them in The Works, but maybe there is some truth in it?
Anyways as I said,  I really don’t think social media is helping, usually it’s always been my little form of escapism but lately I’ve really not wanted to be a participate as much.
You  know that feeling when you scroll through endless pictures and everyone else looks like they totally have their shit together, great house, great fashion photo’s, great holidays, perfect family which don’t get me wrong it’s great for them, their life looks wonderful and I am usually always one of the first to look at those photos and be like ‘wow’ – clicks heart.... but when you see these flawless pictures it all too often makes you analyse yourself and think ‘shiiiit’ here I am, lucky if I can manage to grab a drink and run a brush through my hair  before I rush out the house for work and its normally with minimal  make up - I am now a pro at the 5 minute make up challenge.
Hardly what you call instagram selfie ready, more like dishevelled mess that wishes she’d had more sleep.

But it’s not just about feeling aesthetically rubbish, it’s also mentally too... I just can’t put my finger on it, but I feel so down on myself, I feel not good enough at the moment, not worthy almost.
I feel that everything I am doing is just simply crap and I’m just not good at anything, just in general.
I cried the other day cause I forgot to put something in the wash that Chris needed ‘muttering to myself as I sobbed, “ffs I can’t even do the washing properly’”
I know I am good at many things, but it’s the believing you are that is the hard part!!

When you feel bad on yourself in general and then you are knocked down and scrutinised online for anything you do then the thoughts and paranoia begin...
People can say the most awful things and it really does set you off on that spiral of self destruction.
But I know I am a good person and I will get out of this funk, it may take me a little while, or until April 14th (according to the Mercury theory)

Until  then I think I will limit my time online, focus on the important things, try to do more self care and try not to compare too much as, as they say it is the thief of joy!!
Let’s See...

As a plus size woman I feel fortunate that many brands are now listening and catering for us ladies and we have a lot more choice as of late.
But what do men have? Sadly its not as must choice as women.... yet!! But were getting there....

Whilst at this years Curve Fashion Festival it was really refreshing to see some men's clothing that brands have taken on board and realised that they need to start catering for both sexes after all there are plus size men too. And so when we saw had a men's plus size range called we both took delight is seeing what they had to offer.

Although the choice is not vast there was a nice mix of comfy casuals swell as attire for a night out. and so when they asked if Chris would like to try few of their items he was thrilled.

Now you all know Chris, he's not one for dressing up, he is that comfy casual guy usually in a t-shirt or hoodie and you guessed it.... no change there.

The sizing is a 2XL which was fine for the hoodie and t-shirt but be mindful for shirts you may want to size up for a more comfortable fit.

The shoes he found to be a bit narrow, and they need to be 'worn in' so perhaps be aware of that too.

There was a fair amount of choice on the site but the choices are def more geared up for a much younger man not someone approaching their 40's so perhaps there needs to be some more variation of styles to cover more age ranges?

Thanks  to Boo Hoo Man for letting Chris check out the plus size range.

Have you seen the are doing 50% off the denim range at the moment?
Go head on over and take a look at the range and perhaps find some bargains for your man.

Also, anyone get the blog title reference?? Gotta love me some Salt 'N' Pepa

Wow... it’s been 4 months since I’ve actually posted anything on here, 16 whole weeks.... that’s a long time in an age where everything is digital and instant.
Why so long you ask? Well if I’m honest I kind of just  Logged Off and Lived Life.

I’m not really sure, what happened, I think I just became very disconnected from writing, from social media even and I still am a little bit to a certain extent. I just fell out of love with my blog, it happens.
I would sit and stare at the screen and try to think of words, of what content to create or the right description for an item of clothing... NO EMMA you can’t write this dress is ‘lovely’ again’  and.... nadda,.... nothing.....blank brain!
I think for me it started manifesting in the October I’d had a really shitty time with my health, I was still recovering and the thought of writing anything made me anxious, I would feel a pressure on myself  like a BIG knot in my stomach that wouldn’t go away and I hated that feeling and so I switched off.... I stopped writing, I took a mini break from my YT . I felt utterly exhausted from Social Media, and I BLIMMIN LOVE social media but some days it drains me even now and I know I’m not the only one that feels this.

And so taking time away was just the tonic I needed, it gave me clarity and really helped me focus on things that were more important going on around me, it’s amazing how much more refreshed you feel just by stepping outside of the social whirlwind and it’s something I really try to do more of these days. A night away from your phone and actually LIVING LIFE, rather than LIVING LIFE THROUGH A SCREEN truly is the best medicine and I feel almost free... (god that sounds dramatic but you get what I mean)
Anyhow, back to the blogging, I feel like I have a bit of my mojo back, I want to start dipping my nib in the inkwell and writing again.
Now don’t get me wrong, I am by no means a writer, I struggle at the best of times and there are thousands, hundreds of thousands, millions even, of blogs that are much better than this one, that create amazing content daily with wondrous pictures. But I’m not one to compete. I never have been.

I have always been a bit of what I call a ‘Blender’ I like to blend in, happy to spectate, let others jump ahead, take the spotlight if you like, y’know what i’m trying to say right? I am happy in my little bubble and I am totally OK with it.

Blogging isn’t my job, every aspect of my social media, even my YT channel is just a hobby for me.
A blimmin wonderful hobby, that has made me amazing friends, taken me to amazing places not to mention given me some of the BEST memories that I can look back on in years to come as a scrapbook  of life and smile. But blogging and vlogging doesn’t pay my bills. I work hard in my 9-5 and I love my job and so being able to pick and choose and leave things a while is a luxury for me I suppose.

As I said, I have kind of got my spark back to writing again, I mean it’s not the kind of spark that’s going to set the word alight but still, this little slice of the worldwide web is mine, all mine... to do what I see fit with and that's what I want to do and so expect more content from me, I’m not sure what yet, but come join me anyway, it might be fun.....

Shop My Look:

Forget Harry Styles, Forget Prince Harry, Forget Harry Redknapp (I couldn't think of anymore Harry's) THIS is the BEST HARRY in town.

I'll admit I am a Joanie virgin, I have seen many of my fellow gorgeous bloggers and vloggers rocking some amazing Joanie pieces (I'm look at you Em & Emma) but as much as I admired them from afar I didn't actually purchase anything.... (why I will never know!!!?) Until Now.

And so last week I decided to purchase a few items, well, two handbags, this dress and a t-shirt  to be exact and I LOVE them all..... Joanie has become my new favourite website.

I'm sure I will show you the other couple of pieces I bought another day but for today lets focus on these two beauties.

The is just stunning I love the style (Bardot - obvz), the vibrant orange colour which now matches my hair. I love the  midi length and I also love the cute embroidered detailing.

As I hadn't tried Joanie before I made sure I did my research about sizing and I actually sized up and I'm glad I did cause of the lining so be mindful of this.

In terms of pricing this was £40 which isn't too bad for a cute summer dress, and they always do offers (currently as I type they have a 20% off discount going on until 9am tomorrow)
I got 10% off being a new customer, so scout around for some promo codes

Next up the ..... isn't it just so vintagely fabulous and guess how much it was....? Guess!!!
SEVEN BLIMMIN POUNDS (I know right!!?) in the sale.
I absolutely adore it and it goes perfectly with the outfit.
It also comes with a long strap in  case you wondered so you can wear it on your shoulder.
This is now sold out but the patent is still available

I'm just so completely smitten with with this look, in fact I'm smitten with Joanie Clothing and can safely say I have been converted into a #joaniegal

Have you shopped at
What are your favourite items?
I now need EVERYTHING.

Lots of Love

Happy Fri-Yay!!!

I'm not gonna lie, I love this outfit and these photo's were taken a couple of weeks ago before I got struck down with illness and before the weather turned rubbish..... were all bracing ourselves for hurricane Brian that's due in over night..... eeeeep.

And so I thought I would share a few photos of this outfit, and tell you it's giving me
Autumnal Pink Lady feels....
This is the CUTEST, the colour is gorgeous and it feels so soft and fluffy, people have been wanting to stroke it (lol) a ALOT.

I'm not usually one for slogan tee's although  saying that I have bought two in the space of a month.... maybe I am a convert who know....?
But there's something about this ... I think its cause its all spangly and girly.
It's quite roomy too, so I could of sized down but I still love it all the same.

In the name of all things pink lets also remember that its also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so please do all you can to help all the worthwhile charities and organisations like that do steller jobs in raising much needed funds and awareness for the awful disease that sadly claims so many lives.

I hope you all have an lovely weekend, I'm really enjoying creating more content on the blog lately and I hope you are too.

Hands Up, who's going to this years Curve Fashion Festival in Liverpool on Sat 9th Sept??

I will be there and I'm bringing Chris along too to check out the mens offerings from Jacamo and Bad Rhino.

I have been so excited about this years event, it's been circled on the calendar for the longest time and it has been my 'thing to look forward to' after moving house and now that we're all moved the festival is getting closer and closer and I can't blimmin wait.

Every year the festival just gets bigger and better and this year is no exception, there is so much on offer, from book signings, to meet and greets to Q&A's to celebrity launches.

There is something for everyone and it is action packed from the moment the doors open at 10am till they close at 5pm.

Below I have listed the FULL schedule of events, one's I am most excited about are :
Q&A with Tess Holliday, The launch of Charlotte Crosby's collection from In The Style Curve and
the How To Stage session with Hayley from Curves & Curls and Studio 8 not to mention the catwalk shows that are happening all throughout the day showcasing new AW17 pieces (hurrah autumn fashion) as well as interacting and meeting with so many of the AMAZING Plus Size Brands, Independent Business' as well as some beauty bits thrown in.

It's so empowering and amazing that these events now exist for us. Gone are the days of having to traipse around the high street trying to find fashion that fits and struggling to find anything other that a hanky hem butterfly print t-shirt.
Fashion is changing, brands are realising we need fashion and trends in a variety of sizes and to have so many of them all under one roof  showcasing is just fantastic.

Are you going to this years TCFF? Tickets are still available

You seriously won't regret it, its an amazing event and a fantastic place to catch up with your favourite bloggers, brands, digital influencers and a chance to also meet new friends who just simply adore fashion!!

Will I see you there?

So yesterday I turned 36, and to many of you it’s not really a significant birthday, and you would be right, it’s not. But in a strange kind of way to me it was.... you see up until the day before yesterday I was Mid Thirties, it’s been kinda cool to teeter around that bracket for a little while, when you’re young being in your thirties was ‘Soooo Old’ but to say mid thirties now it almost sounds sophisticated, imagine I am a city slick SITC rooftop bar drinking type wearing Christian Looboo's sipping champagne
(I mean I’m totally not – but you catch my drift) the thirties doesn’t seem old anymore, its more glamorous and yet when you get to 36 like I am now, you are almost hit with a KABLAAAAM, here come the FOURTIES.
It is staring me in the face. I am four years away from being FOURTY.... I don’t feel ‘nearly’ forty, but then what does a nearly forty year old person supposed to feel like? I dunno.
I’ve mentioned recently about how I have struggled finding my feet as to what genre I fit into, about pigeon holing myself into a certain community and I very quickly realised that to me that wasn’t a good thing, I don’t want to be sifted off into one category, I am a whole bunch of categories in life as well as in the blogging and vlogging world and so on this day, the day after my non milestone, milestone birthday I want to tell you about the 5 things I have learnt lately as I approach my nearly forties......

1)        Purpose
I have a purpose, you have a purpose, we all do.
I am a Daughter, a Sister, A Wife, An Auntie, A Godmother, A Friend. I have purpose. I used to beat myself up daily over our infertility struggles. I thought my purpose in life was to be a MOTHER and to a certain extent I still do, and I like to still dream that when I have that babe in arms I WILL be that person that says ‘THIS IS WHAT I WAS PUT HERE TO DO’ but until that day arrives I will continue to believe I still have purpose irrelevant of the fact I am not a mother – yet!! I have so many strengths and things that I am good at, I focus on those and continue to grow into a stronger person daily.

2)     Spending Time with the Right People

As you get older you realise very quickly the importance of spending time with the people that matter to you. For me family is my whole world, they are my inner circle of trust, my lion pack and there is nothing better than just being with them. I am such a home bird and sure I like to go on adventures but they are always adventures with my favourite people, mostly Chris (love you baby). Friendships shift along the way and you have ones that have been with you since school, since college, ones you make through work, then for me these past few years it’s been through blogging and vlogging. Some stay for the ride, some drift off and have different journeys and that’s OK. Remember you can’t be friends with EVERYONE. Sure along the road you gather acquaintances, people you can have a drink with and be social with, but nothing quite beats having those people around that just ‘Get You’ They are your allies, your confidants your support team. And so spend time with the ones that make you feel happy and good to be around.

3)     Learning to say NO

For a very long time, and I mean a VERY long time I was a ‘YES’ woman, yes I’ll do that for you, ‘YES’ of course I’ll do this, Yes Yes yes yes yes, I couldn’t help it, I am a people pleaser,

I like to be liked, I like to muck in, I have even been told I am too nice and a pushover at times, it’s kind of in my make up.. but then something changed, I don’t know when I switched, I can’t recall the time I clicked and thought – y’know what I don’t need to say yes to everything. I have a choice; I can say no. The world is not going to end and if it’s not going to be beneficial to me in any way, then WHY am I doing it? But I just did. I don’t have to be the people pleaser and the YES woman. People are still going to like me if I don’t agree with something or can’t do something or can’t afford something and if they don’t then they quite frankly, screw em!!! I am more selective with my choices these days, for example, if ever I got an invitation to a bloggy event I would immediately want to go, cause I was just chuffed to be invited, irrelevant of the time and money its would cost to get there, not to mention the days holiday I would have to take off work here and there. But now I can’t even recall the last bloggery PR type event I went to, sure I get invited but I realise that my time is more better invested elsewhere, that day off that I would need to take could be spend with Chris somewhere else. Priorities shift and it’s OK to be a NO woman too.

4)     Not Everyone is Going to Like You

It’s true, as mentioned in the last point, I have always been a people pleaser, throughout my whole life I have been what I affectionately call ‘A Floater’ (sounds gross I know) but I have been fortunate enough to be able to float around getting on with most people. I was the same at school, I didn’t have a group as such, I got on with everyone from the cool kids to the geeky kids and the boys, everyone. I have always been an all rounder. I was also very lucky that I was never bullied, I moved schools alot due to my parent’s job and so I was always the new kid and I guess an easy target for bullies but it just never happened. And so when you experience nasty stuff later on in life it kinda take you by surprise. ‘What do you mean you don’t like me?’ ‘What have I done wrong?’...... I hate confrontation, I hate arguments its one thing I try to steer clear of at all costs, it makes me sad. And so when you hear that someone has been horrible about you it hurts – ALOT, and when you read hurtful things online about yourself its hits you like a wallop to the stomach. It’s never nice, it’s never easy but you have to reside yourself to the fact that not everyone is going to like you and that’s OK, I mean I don’t like everyone either :)

5)     Grab Onto Adventure with Both Hands

Life is for living, you only get one life so bloody enjoy it as best you can. Find things that make your heart happy, do things that make you proud, go on adventures with awesome people or even on your own. Take time for you. Discover your strengths and weaknesses, go to places that you want to visit, cease all opportunities given. Enjoy the life you have.

Who knows maybe I will write another list when I actually reach forty, maybe it will change, maybe some thing’s will stay the same but one thing’s for sure I’m going to enjoy the next four years of this ‘late thirties’ as best I can. I will embrace every new wrinkle, every new creak of my body when I wake, every grey hair (wait... actually no I will dye those) and guess what, I’ll even embrace my saggy boobs.

Sunday night we were very kindly asked to review the new menu at in Boscombe, Bournemouth.

I was actually invited to a blogger event the week before but I couldn't make it, and so to save me missing out on the yummy pizza we were asked if we would like to pop on down at a time more convienient to us which was so lovely.

The Wood Oven is part of the Urban Guild which is family owned group of hospitality venues in Bournemouth with the likes of Urban Reef, Urban Beach and Urban Farm under its umbrella.

Having been to Urban Reef before and loving its beach setting and rustic vibe always being so inviting we were really looking forward to sampling the pizza's from The Wood Oven's Menu.

When you arrive you are greeted with a view of the kitchen, and the... stone oven.
I love the fact that you can see everything being made and its all so fresh.

The kitchen looks out onto a wooden bench area where I can imagine to be bustling in the summertime.

It was a bit too cold for us to eat outside so we took our seats inside the Urban Reef restaurant to choose our yummy pizza.

I opted for the 'Roasted' a veggie pizza packed with wood roasted vegetables, peppers, pine nuts, olives and pesto and OH MY..... it was delicious, the base was perfectly cooked and golden round the edges the sauce and cheese melted in the mouth and they certainly weren't shy packing on the topping.

Chris had the 'Urban Guild' which had a pulled pork and pineapple topping and he said that it was outstanding and full of flavour and we shared some chips that were arguably the nicest chunky chips
I have had in the longest time and I'm not really a chip fan.
But these.... well, I could of easily devoured some more.

Price wise I would say they are priced fairly at £12 for a huge pizza
(so huge I actually had to take half home)
You would pay more than this at a chain restaurant with no the sea view.

The atmosphere is just so chilled and it was really busy, but chilled busy, a nice blend, with lots of laughter and really a busy restaurant speaks volumes doesn't it!!?

Also, an awesome thing to mention is that they can cater for customers who are Gluten Free with GF bases and brioche buns and they can even create vegan choices by swapping out the cheese etc...

Another couple other lovely touches.

1) They allow dogs and so if you have been walking along the beach with your furry friend it's nice to think that you can stop in and have bite to eat and bring the pooch along

2) They had a games shelf, so you could take in a game of snakes and ladders while you wait for your food.
3) The do free delivery up to 4 miles for orders over £15 or more

It was just so very chilled and lovely and we will defiantly be going back, 1) Because I need some more of those chips and 2) I need to now try the 'Dorset' pizza (see menu picture - yum)

Thank you to for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you want to see more from inside then check out this week's weekend vlog for more.

You know when you go online wanting to buy one thing... JUST ONE THING and then....

THIS happens!!! WHOOPS!!

Initially I went online to buy some more Peppermint Leg Gel, it has been my saving grace during this warm weather as my feet swell and I suffer terrible with hot feet, I mean seriously I have to have the fan pointing at them at night cause they get so hot, I have even been known to get up in the middle of the night and soak them in cold water.....

Anyways, I went to buy this said leg gel and I was devastated to learn they had discontinued it....
no wait... more heartbroken!!!

But it's OK,  I bought an alternative..... oh and MORE!!!

The Body Shop frequently have sales online and at the moment they have 30 and 40% off and yep I got lured in..... but I absolutely LOVE all of my purchases....

I did a little haul over on my channel, to check out my purchases then click on the video below....

Have you bought anything good from The Body Shop sale? Any recommendations?

I still keep buying them... Sooo.. whats my latest obsession you ask?..Well, its Check.... Forget the whole 'Stripes for Life'..... Autumn is all about 'Check For Life'My wardrobe seems to be filling up rather rapidly with check shirts and check shirt dresses.... and these are just two of my recent additions and they are BOTH from Yours Clothing AND they are BOTH gorgeous shades of plum, and we all know that along with mustard yellow, browns and greens these shades means autumn.First up, this burgundy and black check asymmetric shirt, fun fact...although this is supposed to be a shirt,  I can wear it as a dress... there are some perks to being a short arse...RESULTI love the fit on this and the flare, its really roomy too, I actually sized downThis is just the perfect fun autumnal daytime outfit and I have worn it so much since I bought it, in fact a few of you have already said you purchased it after seeing my instagram photo and a couple of the girls at work have said they are going to buy it on payday, so I'll  be twinning with my work buddies soon :)They also do it in Black & White, which I think will soon be added to the collectionNEXT UP....Yeeeee Haaaaa this has all the country feels. One check shirt,  one pair of blue jeggings and some knee high boots and I feel like I want to go to a country festivalThis limited collection fraid hem shirt I have to say comes up a bit smaller than what I would like, and I sized up twice just to get that roomy look and even then its still a bit snug so be mindful of that. But that aside I actually really love this look, I will definitely be teaming it up with a fur gilet when it starts to get a bit colder. There's just something about a check shirt that can look casual, yet classy depending how you accessorise, for instance lets go back to statement earrings that I am obsessed with, they just give it that little somat somat...Both looks have been teamed with these wide fit ruched knee high block heel boots that are sooooo comfy, as you can probably tell by the photo's  have been wearing them a lot.The XL Calf fitting on these are fantastic, I have particularly large calves and can struggle with some side zips, but these are just perfect and zip up like a dreamWhat are your Autumn Obsessions lately? Maybe I'll find another trend to get addicted too with your suggestions.LoveEm xxx*second outfit kindly supplied for review, thoughts are my ownEm For President What happens when your friend comes over to stay for the weekend, well, firstly you spend quality time together, secondly you drink wine and beer, thirdly you eat pasta oh... and then you stand in a field and get her to take blog photo's that look like you're running for president - LOVE ITSeriously though, this whole outfit is from Yours Clothing, and I love it, its so comfy casual. This stretchy black midi dress is super comfortable and it has pockets!!! Who doesn't love a dress with pockets right ladies?Whilst I've opted for a more relaxed look, this black dress can totally be dressed up with heels, jacket and statement necklace. But I really like the more casual look, complete with cropped denim jacket and navy pumpsand can we talk about the bag, this star print beach bag is so cute right? I flippin love it, and its really spacious too.It also comes in pastel pink and purple and they are so cute.Isn't Khi a good photographer, I think she needs to come an visit more often just for the photo's lol!!Here are a few more of my favourites.....Did you catch the latest weekend vlog?Let me know what your favourite comfy casuals are? Also, I totally need to run for president now, esp in that first picture right? haha!!LoveMrs M xxxx*items kindly sent for reviewHitting The Headlines So last weekend was eventful, it seems my tweet to New Look on Friday questioning pricing differences between the Main, Tall and Curve Range has caused a bit of a stir. The Daily Mail picked up on it and wrote an article about it, prompting the lovely Katie Hopkins to troll me..... what a sweetie she is..... *note sarcastic tone*And then The Sun also decided to run a story on it.I have refrained from reading the comments, because as per the norm with things like this you get narrow minded people that are quick to spout off about weight and how I must really like chips (fun fact i'm not a big fan of chip, lol) and that I should spend the extra money on a gym membership not a new top yadda yadda....same ol drivvle. So many of you are with me, and agree so thanks thanks guys!!!At present (Wednesday night - 6 days later) I haven't had any explanation from New Look, I had a generic type email advising they would look into it and someone from their complaints team will be in touch within a week - well time is ticking by so I wonder if I will EVER get an explanation? Who knows, but I'm not sorry I brought this to everyone attention, even Katie bloody Hopkins!!What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it's a Fat Tax? Is it down to Supply and Demand? or just plain exploitation?I'd love to know your thoughts? If you haven't seen I mention it in this weeks weekend vlog, you can check it out below:LoveMrs M xxxxSuu Suu Suuusudio Let me tell you about last Friday....Myself and Chris were very kindly invited to one of the BST Hyde park Gigs, these concerts happen every year in Hyde Park over a sucession of 10 days where they draw in some AMAZING artists, last year I went to see Take That if you remember that VLOG?Anyhow this year, well..... this year I got very excited as one of my absolute idols was there Phil Collins.I have hearted Phil Collins since I can even remember, my dad used to play his songs over and over, I can’t even tell you how many times I have seen the film Buster. I even loved him that much I wanted to learn how to play the drums, much to my parents dismay (it never happened- dammit)And so to me Friday was about transporting me back to my childhood, those happy carefree days of sitting in Dad’s Nissan Terrano singing along to Suuu suuuu Suuuusudiooooo.... OH OH!!!And boy he didn’t disappoint, from the moment the chords of ‘Another Day in Paradise’ started playing I could feel my eyes well up..... I wished my Dad could see this now, I wished he could be there, but I like to think he was, watching and singing along in heaven. I had my bestest company of Chris with me though, who happens to also love Phil too – result!!!We had the best afternoon just mooching around the different activities, getting selfies and gifs done at the Coke and Samsung Stands, having a cider in the sun, drinking in the atmosphere and just spending some quality time together. We saw Mike & The Mechanics play – minus Paul Carrack, but Roachford did a great stand in, The New Power Generation were there with their funky moves and Blondie was on before Phil – Debbie Harry is pretty blimmin rockin for...72.... wow!!!There was plenty of food stalls with lots of choice, but be mindful prices are expensive (£20 for two chicken and halloimi wraps) but I guess thats the norm for festivals right? The outfit that I chose to wear, well I decided to channel my inner 80’s and went for a mix of Karen from Bananarama and SJP blazer esq pre SITC and I think its looked pretty cool...The T Shirt and Heart Bag are from Joanie Clothing, Jeans are Simply Be, Jacket Yours and Pumps EvansWe had such a fantastic time and can't wait to go back next year.Huge Thanks to BST Hyde Park & Outside Org for making my Phil Collins Dreams come true. You can catch some of the day on my latest weekend vlog.Love Mrs M xxxxWho IS She? Guys, it’s time to be honest. I fell out of love with my blog, it was a slow burn, but if you are a regular reader then you will notice that my posts have been few and far between, averaging between one and two posts a month, if that. To call myself is blogger right now would be a big fat pinocchio nosed lie!!! In simple terms, I have just felt a bit lost, I have been in a rut of knowing what content to put out there and not just here but even over on my YT channel (the place where I am much more proactive – two videos a week, thank you very much, smug face) But the thing I have been struggling the most with is...  Who I am online? To coin a phase from Nikki from Big Brother Circa 2006  WHO IS SHE???Even I don’t know....How do people see me? What I should be? What do I think I am? Am I a Blogger? A Vlogger? A Fashion Blogger? A Plus Size Blogger? A Lifestyle Blogger? A Beauty Blogger, A Beauty Vlogger, A Food Blogger, An Infertility Blogger, Vlogger... vlogger, vlogger, blogger, blogger, vlogger blogger.... gaaaah you get the gist...?SO MANY LABELS!!! It’s so confusingI guess all I can do is what I do best and just BE ME. It’s all I know how to be.I am a mid thirty something, wife, daughter, sister, friend.I love fashion that will fit my frame, and at present I refer to myself as a Plus Size Fashion Blogger.  I follow trends, and like to promote body positivity and confidence, yet I wouldn’t say I’m an activist. But I  also love make up, I apply it to the best of my ability I have no skills, so I’m not really a Beauty Blogger?I love spending time with my friends of all different backgrounds who all have different hobbies and interests, am I a Family Blogger?I struggle with infertility and talk about it sometimes and I also love hearing about mummy adventures from my friends with children. I am a country music lover and singer (occasionally) Music Blogger?I love going to the cinema... Film Blogger? I am a tea drinker who these days would prefer a night in with a takeaway over a night out and yet when I do go out I def go OUT OUT. I love cooking (except baking I’m utter shit at baking and cake decorating) yet I love to try new foods and going to new restaurants. Food Blogger?I love to go on adventures with my amazing husband, family and friends...Travel Blogger? oh and I adore my dog, Pet Blogger? lol...... Y’See how confusing it is? I mean.....  how do you label all that? I actually don’t feel like I want to label it? Or should I?..... As I said earlier, do I just pick one thing and just write about that? I don’t want to though... *stamps feet*I’m not competitive in any shape or form and don’t strive to be, the best at this, or the best at that.... I just like sharing bits of my whole life with you...And so here is where my element of confusion comes in.... in social media terms, would you say I am a now a lifestyle blogger/vlogger? I just don’t know???? Help me out guys!!!?I guess what I’m trying to say is, things are a changing over here on the blog, I want to be more proactive I want to write about anything and everything, and the only person stopping me doing that was me because I didn’t (and still don’t)  know what to ‘label’ myself. However, from today onwards I pinky promise that I will write more content over here and regardless of whatever flippin label I should or shouldn’t be using I will just continue to BE ME if that OK with you all?You can catch up on my latest being me shenanigans on this weeks, weekend vlog.Hope you enjoy.LoveMrs M xxxxPersonalised Gifts / The Gift Box UK SOUND THE CLAXON THERE ONLY 8 WEEKS TILL CHRISTMAS!!!8 WEEKS PEOPLE!!!Time to start thinking of Christmas shopping!!We started ours last weekend and every year I always feel slightly overwhelmed with what to get people.I write list upon lists, I scroll the internet trying to think of the perfect gift but sometimes my mind draws a blank and I'm someone that likes to think I'm pretty good at gift giving. But then I discovered Gift Box UK, they are a exactly what it says in the title.... They create personalised Gift Boxes, all you need to to is provide them with a brief overview of the person or occasion you are buying for, what your budget is and they create something special and personal.Gift Box UK is a family run business based in Wales and I truly admire independent business that start from scratch and take a leap of faith in something they are passionate about and I will always be on board with supporting that. They very kindly sent me one of their packages as an example just to show you guys and just look how cute it was all packaged up. This a festive bundle came complete with Christmas Decorations, Christmas Scents as well as relaxing bath bomb, cute scarf not to mention this quirky tin crown that everything came contained in which we have already decided we are going to use it at Christmas to put all the chocolate coins in      (everybody has chocolate coins at christmas right?!!)You can also find examples of other gift boxes  that they have created over on their instagram pageThese are a few of my particular favouritesAs you can see these guys really do take the hassle out of gift buying so if you are stuck for a Christmas or a Birthday gift then get in there early in fact I have already ordered a special birthday gift box from them already.Make sure you go and check them out HERE and also on their InstagramLoveEm xxx*giftbox kindly sent for review - thoughts are my ownLUSH SLEEPY REVIEW I have suffered with insomnia for a good few years now, its become almost normal for me.I get a few weeks of good sleep then BAM insomnia strikes, its's just awful. I lie awake, I toss and turn, I get the fidgets. I desperately want to sleep but my body and brain won't let me.I have been struggling to function on as little as 1 hours sleep at a time. It's really not been great.I have tried all sorts, camomile tea, no technology an hour before bed, reading a book before bed, no caffeine, mindful apps. Some work but only seems short term. This past couple of weeks I have been at my wits end, the lack of sleep has really been taking its toll, esp when you have so much to do what with moving house.I mentioned it in one of my daily vlogs... see belowSo many people recommend this Sleepy lotion from Lush. It' s had great reviews online, it's been in the news and it's flying off the shelf. Was it all hype? I had to investigate... I ordered some ready to try and OH MY!!! I actually slept!!And I have been sleeping so well because of it (as I type 4 nights in a row... woo hoo) and so I  just HAD to write about it. This really is magic cream, does it contain magic pixie sleeping dust in it?No its just a mixture of lavender water and cocoa butter. When you first open it you mainly smell cocoa butter with a bit of lavender, but once rubbed into the skin the smell of lavender just takes over your senses and its sooooo soft too.I'm not really a great fan of lavender, but this, this has a really pleasant lavender smell, I think its due to the mix with the cocoa butter.A lot of people have been wondering how I use it, and where on the body and I've opted for arms (all over) chest and neck so the lavender aroma drifts up to my senses. I have also applied it to my feet as they say the feet are very suseptable to attributing to health.Hands up who puts vicks on their feet when they have a cold!!?And so, in summary I would say this £13.95 tub of Sleepy Lotion is the BEST investment I have made in a long time. You can purchase Sleepy Lotion HERELoveMrs M xxxxPoppers & Print / River Island Plus Hey!!It feels like forever since I did an Outfit Post, but last weekend whilst in London and having fellow blogger Khila with me to take photos, plus a funky graffiti background it was kinda rude of us not to take some outfit shots esp as I was wearing my most worn top of the moment, my bomber style popper shirt from River Island Plus.(Check me out trying  to be all moody and bloggery, haha fail!!)I actually got this top in the sale for £17 and I loved it that much I actually bought two, one as a back up for just in casies..... Does anyone else do this?I just love the colour, the print and the style. It has an oversized element  about it and so is quite generous size wise.It looks good just thrown over a cami top and jeans, but I have also worn this for work with a black skirt and boots River Island is seriously becoming one of my favourite places to shop, they are seriously on point with their plus range. This top is still available AND its now only a tenner so grab it while you still can.. I will leave the link HERELoveMrs M xxxxYou Got A Friend In Me As most of you will know if you follow me on social media, I'm having a bit of a You Tube break for this month, lots of things have been building up, I haven't been in the best health (and just this week alone I picked up some god awful cough/cold/virus) and so I had to do what felt right for me and take some time out and just chill, not think about videos, daily vlogging etc... think about what was best for me.Do you know whats been good for me lately during my downtime..... hanging out with some of my most favourite people. We both have demanding jobs, Becky also has two girlies (my beautiful godchildren) and so getting our schedules to work can prove tricky, but when they do its great!!When you blog or vlog, people assume you just hang out with your blogger friends and sure some of my best friends I have met are through that, and admitedly they are the ones that mainly appear in my videos and social media cause they 'get it' and they don't mind being involved. But guess what, not all of my friends I have are from social media and blogging, believe it or not, I actually had a life before this little blog and You Tube, I know right!!!! ;)I have friends from school, friends from work, friends that you meet through other friends and just hit it off and its nice to spend time with them and reminisce and chat about normal day to day stuff. Its good for the soul.So when Curvissa asked me to take part in their #FeelGood campaign I just knew this was the perfect way to do one thing that really does make me happy and Feel Good and that is, to chill out with my bestie. Our comfy cosy clothes were very kindly gifted by Curvissa, I'm wearing the pink funnel neck sweatshirt and Becky is wearing the longline blue hoodie, both super comfy, perfect for those lounging nights in.Our feet were also night and toasty in the city walk slipper socks and the city walk slippersWe had such a lovely evening and its just nice to do the things that make you feel happy and feel good. Thanks to Curvissa and Thanks to my wonderful friends like Becky that help me in so many ways but mainly just by being there for me. I feel very lucky. What makes you Feel Good? LoveEm xxxToo FAT for the Gym? A couple of weeks ago I joined my local gym.  I had wanted to do it for sometime but something always held me back. FEAR.Fear of what you ask? Fear of being laughed at, fear of being the fattest person there, fear of being judged, fear of being stared at........ laughed at even.I had been a member of this gym YEARS ago, but life happened, I lost my drive and desire to spend time doing work outs and became complacent. But I longed to get it back. Over the years when confidence was an all time low I would think, I know I will just work out at home - NEWSFLASH it never happened. I know, I'll start running at night around my local field - NEWSFLASH I hurt my knee oh and it was raining. I WAS MAKING EXCUSES!!!!Till a few weeks ago when something just clicked..... Who cares if they stare, who cares if I am the fattest person there, I'm trying and that's what counts right? I filled out the forms and waited for my induction. That was two weeks ago and I am LOVING it!!! I hope to get back that person that loved exercise and to get my fitness levels back up.Wish me luck!!!What I'm trying to say, is don't let fear get in the way of things you want to do, if you want to do something just DO IT.I spoke about my thoughts in this weeks Tea With E which I will leave the link for below.Let me know your thoughts on this?LoveMrs M xxxxFestive Pottery & Cosy Coats with Studio 8 You may have seen on my instagram stories a couple of weekends ago my friend came over and I wanted to do something creative and get in the festive spirit and so we went pottery painting at A Splash Of Colour in Salisbury.Pottery painting is really theraputic, there is no right or wrong, you just let your paintbrush do the talking and create whatever you likeIt's was more exciting as they had all their Christmas pottery in so we were able to get festive, even in late October :)So we both decided to paint a tree decorationand then Lindsay opted for a tea light and I spied this cute sweet dish that I just knew I had to have it.After our creative afternoon we went for lunch and a lovely walk around Salisbury Cathedral and this is where I get to show you my gorgeous new coat from Studio 8This is the Hayley Coat and I adore it!!!The 3/4 soft flare shape is really flattering to my figure, balancing out my shape.and the navy colour is just so chic and stylish and a real staple colourThe blend of wool and cashmere mix make is super warm and cosy esp with the liningso it is perfect for the colder monthsIt's definetly one of my new go to coats for both day and and night.Make sure you go and check out Studio 8, they have some gorgeous bits forChristmas Party Season.LoveEm xxxx*coat kindly sent for reviewWho Fancies An Old School Blogger Meet Up? Who remembers the time when bloggers used to meet up randomly? Not as part of a PR event or Press Day, but just met up to talk all things Bloggery or You Tube or y'know... make friends? When I first started blogging 5 years ago I still remember the first blogger meet up I plucked up the courage to go to was in 2013, you can read that post HERE.It was a group of approx 30x of us in a bar in London just meeting, chatting, having a few drinks and getting to know each other, we had a really cute goodie bag and some yummy cake pops and I just remember it being a really lovely afternoon.I have organised a couple of smaller events in the past and just lately I have been reminising back to these good old days and I really miss it. It was so nice to just meet like minded people and be social and its something I want to recreate again if anyone would be up for it?I'm thinking London or Birmingham, somewhere easy for people to get to if public transport is required (like myself) and the date I am thinking Saturday Dec 2nd for a couple of hours in the late morning/early afternoon, leaving everyone then free to enjoy the rest of their day.I'd love to know if anyone would be interested in this? There's no specific blog genre ... just a meeting of minds over a few mulled wines? And maybe even a secret santa thrown in for festive spirit? What do you think??If you're interested then drop me an email to:itsemchannel@gmail.comLove Em xxxxGreat Odds - Friendship & Communication Last week I was very kindly invited to Salisbury Playhouse to see the show Great Odds. The show is a macs- arcadian production aimed for children aged 6-11 years old and is based on friendship and communication.Being as it was half term here in the South West it was a perfect opportunity to take my goddaughter on a little theatre treat however due to timings of the show I had to work and so her mummy and my bestie Becky went in my place and it gave them the perfect Mummy/Daughter afternoon which was lovely. The show is written by Ester McAuley and the story as per their summary online is:Exploring ambition, communication and friendship, the story follows the Great Odds; Marco, Grouch and Jewels, on an exciting and sometimes wobbly journey... Dreams change shape, unexpected things are uncovered and success comes through surprising discoveries.Integrating visual storytelling, British Sign Language, live music, sound and puppetry, Mac's Arcadian presents Great Odds, its first play, in co- production with Lighthouse Poole, supported by Improbable. Great Odds is still touring and have a few show's left around the country so if you are looking for a fun, interactive thought provoking show for kids then have a check on the Mac-Arcadian website to book tickets for the rest of the tour, the following dates are left: So if they  coming to a town near you then grab a ticket.I will leave the rehearsal trailer about the show below so you can see for yourself, but click on the Mac-Arcadian website HERE to see the proper trailer.LoveEmma xxxMellow Yellow - Yours Clothing Can you guess what my favourite colour is at the moment?Any ideas ;)I have developed a love of yellow as of late, the colour just makes me happy and I think it suits me if I do say so myself.Today I'm sharing with you three of my favourite yellow tops from Yours Clothing. The first one is this yellow and black polka dot kimono, which is the cutest.... you all know kimonos and longline blouses are my favourite and this fits into my collection perfectly... Its just so easy to throw on over the top of a cami and jeans and it instantly brightens up your outfit.Next up, this floral print cold shoulder swing top, if you'd have said to me this time last year I'd be wearing a cold shoulder top I would of said no way hosay.I was totally over the cold shoulder trend, it was literally EVERYWHERE, but I'm actually starting to warm to it again and this the cold shoulder on this top is actually quite subtle and I love the pink floral print. And finally..... BARDOT... I will never get bored of the bardot trend, never ever EVER!! I just adore this frilled cold shoulder jersey top, its slightly different with the thin straps, the print is the cutest and I just love the frill style on the chest. Its the perfect summers day top. Whats your colour of the summer? Mine is clearly yellow..... and I will continue to love it until the autumn mustard yellows come around.... Autumn is coming and I'm excited ;)LoveMrs M xxxx*items kindly sent for review, thoughts are my ownQuiz Clothing - Effortlessly Stylish The new generation office dress codeYou’ve aced the interview and landed your dream job. Now, you’re about to face an even bigger challenge: mastering the office dress code. It’s no secret that work wear has relaxed over the years. Rewind 20 years and the office dress code was all about power dressing; we’re talking formal suits, smart blouses and an almost exclusively monochrome colour palette.Nowadays, our busy lives mean we need a working wardrobe that can seamlessly transition between our work and play. Thankfully, QUIZ Clothing, retailers of office-ready dresses, has shared their tips for mastering the new generation office dress code:DressesOf course, there will always be a place for dresses in your working wardrobe. They’re super easy to style and they suit both smarter and more relaxed dress codes. If your new workplace still has a formal dress code, choose a simple and chic midi dress. Stay away from lace, bold prints or bright colours as they can make you look like you’re dressed for a night out instead of a day in the office! Stick to plain styles or subtle prints for versatile looks you can work throughout the year.In more relaxed workplaces, stick to casual dresses. Jumper dresses will work well through autumn and winter when paired with tights and heeled ankle boots. Shirt dresses are another great choice, as their collar will naturally make them feel smarter.Trousers & tailoringThe power suit may be a thing of the past but you can still be a girl boss with the right tailoring. Trousers are having a moment right now, so make sure you have a few great pairs in your wardrobe for those days when you need to look effortlessly chic.Tapered trousers are essential. They’ll hug your figure and subtly show off your shape, and will look great with both smart flats and heels. Wear your flats day-to-day and switch them for heels for that all-important meeting. Trust us, your feet will thank us!Culottes and frill hem trousers can also be worn but because they’re such bold styles, you’ll need to make sure they’re office appropriate. To create a formal look, swap the t-shirt for a smart blouse — an embroidered shirt would be the perfect choice for an on-trend look.JeansWearing jeans to the office would be unthinkable 20 years ago. Pair your jeans with a smart-casual shirt or blouse and wear with more formal flats and a chic blazer.Of course, if your company has a strict dress code, you may not be able to wear jeans at all, so it’s well worth enquiring before your start date to avoid any fashion faux pas!ShoesWe’ve already briefly mentioned shoes but, as they can make or break an outfit, we thought we’d give them their own section! Overall, you have three main choices when it comes to work shoes: flats, boots and heels.First up, flats. Loafers are a huge trend at the moment, which is good news for all you professionals! Smart yet stylish, they’re the perfect work shoe that can be worn with trousers, dresses and jeans. You’ll definitely need black loafers, and it’s wise to invest in a nude pair too.As autumn winter creeps ever nearer, boots are another great option. Over knee boots teamed with a jumper dress and tights is an on trend look for winter 2017. Heeled boots are also a great option, as they’re both formal and versatile, although flat boots can also work.Heels are perhaps the trickiest of all of our work footwear choices. Get your look right and you’ll be the office fashionista in no time!Love Em xx*sponsored post*All Clothing Kindly supplied by Quiz Clothing CurveYou Can't Pour From An Empty Cup You may have seen, this week we had Mental Health Awareness Day, a day to stop and make people think about Mental Health in all its forms. Now, although I've never been diagnosed with anything I know in myself there have been moments in my life where I have suffered. Moments where I have had some real lows and bouts of panic and anxiety and as of late its really made me stop and think as to how I suffer and also how well I hide it.On the outside for the most part I am a happy and upbeat person. You have to restore the balance in all areas, mentally and physically and so by taking a break its allows me to my clear head so I can overcome hurdles one by one rather than feel like I have the weight of the world on my chest.MH Awareness is so important, so many people suffer  in so many different ways and sadly it can be in silence for fear and stigma. Some days are good, some days are bad but we all need to remember to be kind an compassionate to one another because sometimes we really don't know the secret battles each individual faces every day.Love Em xxxxAre The Planets To Blame? I THINK SOCIAL MEDIA IS MAKING ME FEEL BAD ABOUT MYSELF, there I said it!!I’m not in a good place at the moment, I had high hopes of doing more writing like I said in my last post, but have I been able to muster up words, no... not yet...I’ve been in a real funk lately and can’t seem to shake myself out of it, on the surface I appear OK and I’m keeping busy, doing well in my job, keeping busy with my family and friend, going to events etc.. but inwardly I am actually a ball of self doubt constantly. In fact I did a little insta story about how I’m feeling the other day and it seems lots of you are actually feeling the same.Apparently Mercury is in Retrograde so this can alter moods.... who knew!!?I’ve never been one for believing all that, even if I did for years buy one of those star sign books that gave you a horoscope daily – fun fact they still sell them in The Works, but maybe there is some truth in it?Anyways as I said,  I really don’t think social media is helping, usually it’s always been my little form of escapism but lately I’ve really not wanted to be a participate as much. You  know that feeling when you scroll through endless pictures and everyone else looks like they totally have their shit together, great house, great fashion photo’s, great holidays, perfect family which don’t get me wrong it’s great for them, their life looks wonderful and I am usually always one of the first to look at those photos and be like ‘wow’ – clicks heart.... but when you see these flawless pictures it all too often makes you analyse yourself and think ‘shiiiit’ here I am, lucky if I can manage to grab a drink and run a brush through my hair  before I rush out the house for work and its normally with minimal  make up - I am now a pro at the 5 minute make up challenge.Hardly what you call instagram selfie ready, more like dishevelled mess that wishes she’d had more sleep. But it’s not just about feeling aesthetically rubbish, it’s also mentally too... I just can’t put my finger on it, but I feel so down on myself, I feel not good enough at the moment, not worthy almost.I feel that everything I am doing is just simply crap and I’m just not good at anything, just in general.I cried the other day cause I forgot to put something in the wash that Chris needed ‘muttering to myself as I sobbed, “ffs I can’t even do the washing properly’”I know I am good at many things, but it’s the believing you are that is the hard part!! When you feel bad on yourself in general and then you are knocked down and scrutinised online for anything you do then the thoughts and paranoia begin...People can say the most awful things and it really does set you off on that spiral of self destruction. But I know I am a good person and I will get out of this funk, it may take me a little while, or until April 14th (according to the Mercury theory) Until  then I think I will limit my time online, focus on the important things, try to do more self care and try not to compare too much as, as they say it is the thief of joy!!Let’s See... ~Em xWhatta Man, Whatta Man, Whatta Man, Whatta Boo Hoo MAN As a plus size woman I feel fortunate that many brands are now listening and catering for us ladies and we have a lot more choice as of late. But what do men have? Sadly its not as must choice as women.... yet!! But were getting there....Whilst at this years Curve Fashion Festival it was really refreshing to see some men's clothing that brands have taken on board and realised that they need to start catering for both sexes after all there are plus size men too. And so when we saw Boo Hoo had a men's plus size range called Big & Tall we both took delight is seeing what they had to offer. Although the choice is not vast there was a nice mix of comfy casuals swell as attire for a night out. and so when they asked if Chris would like to try few of their items he was thrilled. Now you all know Chris, he's not one for dressing up, he is that comfy casual guy usually in a t-shirt or hoodie and you guessed it.... no change there.Orange HoodieRed & Black Check ShirtGrey T ShirtBlack TrainersThe sizing is a 2XL which was fine for the hoodie and t-shirt but be mindful for shirts you may want to size up for a more comfortable fit.The shoes he found to be a bit narrow, and they need to be 'worn in' so perhaps be aware of that too. Go head on over HERE and take a look at the Big & Tall range and perhaps find some bargains for your man. Also, anyone get the blog title reference?? Gotta love me some Salt 'N' PepaLoveEm xxxx*clothing kindly gifted for reviewLogging Off, Living Life  Wow... it’s been 4 months since I’ve actually posted anything on here, 16 whole weeks.... that’s a long time in an age where everything is digital and instant. Why so long you ask? Well if I’m honest I kind of just  Logged Off and Lived Life. I’m not really sure, what happened, I think I just became very disconnected from writing, from social media even and I still am a little bit to a certain extent. I just fell out of love with my blog, it happens.I would sit and stare at the screen and try to think of words, of what content to create or the right description for an item of clothing... NO EMMA you can’t write this dress is ‘lovely’ again’  and.... nadda,.... nothing.....blank brain!I think for me it started manifesting in the October I’d had a really shitty time with my health, I was still recovering and the thought of writing anything made me anxious, I would feel a pressure on myself  like a BIG knot in my stomach that wouldn’t go away and I hated that feeling and so I switched off.... (god that sounds dramatic but you get what I mean)Anyhow, back to the blogging, I feel like I have a bit of my mojo back, I want to start dipping my nib in the inkwell and writing again. I am happy in my little bubble and I am totally OK with it.Blogging isn’t my job, every aspect of my social media, even my YT channel is just a hobby for me.A blimmin wonderful hobby, that has made me amazing friends, taken me to amazing places not to mention given me some of the BEST memories that I can look back on in years to come as a scrapbook  of life and smile. But blogging and vlogging doesn’t pay my bills. I work hard in my 9-5 and I love my job and so being able to pick and choose and leave things a while is a luxury for me I suppose. As I said, I have kind of got my spark back to writing again, I mean it’s not the kind of spark that’s going to set the word alight but still, this little slice of the worldwide web is mine, all mine... to do what I see fit with and that's what I want to do and so expect more content from me, I’m not sure what yet, but come join me anyway, it might be fun.....~Em xxxShop My Look:Polka Dot BlouseJeansThe Best Harry In Town... But in a strange kind of way to me it was.... you see up until the day before yesterday I was Mid Thirties, it’s been kinda cool to teeter around that bracket for a little while, when you’re young being in your thirties was ‘Soooo Old’ but to say mid thirties now it almost sounds sophisticated, imagine I am a city slick SITC rooftop bar drinking type wearing Christian Looboo's sipping champagne(I mean I’m totally not – but you catch my drift) the thirties doesn’t seem old anymore, its more glamorous and yet when you get to 36 like I am now, you are almost hit with a KABLAAAAM, here come the FOURTIES.It is staring me in the face. I am four years away from being FOURTY.... I don’t feel ‘nearly’ forty, but then what does a nearly forty year old person supposed to feel like? I dunno.I’ve mentioned recently about how I have struggled finding my feet as to what genre I fit into, about pigeon holing myself into a certain community and I very quickly realised that to me that wasn’t a good thing, I don’t want to be sifted off into one category, I am a whole bunch of categories in life as well as in the blogging and vlogging world and so on this day, the day after my non milestone, milestone birthday I want to tell you about the 5 things I have learnt lately as I approach my nearly forties......       1)        Purpose        I have a purpose, you have a purpose, we all do.I am a Daughter, a Sister, A Wife, An Auntie, A Godmother, A Friend. I have so many strengths and things that I am good at, I focus on those and continue to grow into a stronger person daily.2)     Spending Time with the Right PeopleAs you get older you realise very quickly the importance of spending time with the people that matter to you. And so spend time with the ones that make you feel happy and good to be around.3)     Learning to say NOFor a very long time, and I mean a VERY long time I was a ‘YES’ woman, yes I’ll do that for you, ‘YES’ of course I’ll do this, Yes Yes yes yes yes, I couldn’t help it, I am a people pleaser, I like to be liked, I like to muck in, I have even been told I am too nice and a pushover at times, it’s kind of in my make up.. but then something changed, I don’t know when I switched, I can’t recall the time I clicked and thought – y’know what I don’t need to say yes to everything. Priorities shift and it’s OK to be a NO woman too.4)     Not Everyone is Going to Like YouIt’s true, as mentioned in the last point, I have always been a people pleaser, throughout my whole life I have been what I affectionately call ‘A Floater’ (sounds gross I know) but I have been fortunate enough to be able to float around getting on with most people. It’s never nice, it’s never easy but you have to reside yourself to the fact that not everyone is going to like you and that’s OK, I mean I don’t like everyone either :)5)     Grab Onto Adventure with Both HandsLife is for living, you only get one life so bloody enjoy it as best you can. Find things that make your heart happy, do things that make you proud, go on adventures with awesome people or even on your own. Take time for you. Discover your strengths and weaknesses, go to places that you want to visit, cease all opportunities given. Enjoy the life you have.Who knows maybe I will write another list when I actually reach forty, maybe it will change, maybe some thing’s will stay the same but one thing’s for sure I’m going to enjoy the next four years of this ‘late thirties’ as best I can. I will embrace every new wrinkle, every new creak of my body when I wake, every grey hair (wait... actually no I will dye those) and guess what, I’ll even embrace my saggy boobs. LoveMrs M xxxThe Wood Oven / Food Review Sunday night we were very kindly asked to review the new menu at The Wood Oven in Boscombe, Bournemouth.I was actually invited to a blogger event the week before but I couldn't make it, and so to save me missing out on the yummy pizza we were asked if we would like to pop on down at a time more convienient to us which was so lovely. The Wood Oven is part of the Urban Guild which is family owned group of hospitality venues in Bournemouth with the likes of Urban Reef, Urban Beach and Urban Farm under its umbrella.Having been to Urban Reef before and loving its beach setting and rustic vibe always being so inviting we were really looking forward to sampling the pizza's from The Wood Oven's Menu. When you arrive you are greeted with a view of the kitchen, and the... stone oven.I love the fact that you can see everything being made and its all so fresh. The kitchen looks out onto a wooden bench area where I can imagine to be bustling in the summertime. It was a bit too cold for us to eat outside so we took our seats inside the Urban Reef restaurant to choose our yummy pizza.I opted for the 'Roasted' a veggie pizza packed with wood roasted vegetables, peppers, pine nuts, olives and pesto and OH MY..... it was delicious, the base was perfectly cooked and golden round the edges the sauce and cheese melted in the mouth and they certainly weren't shy packing on the topping.Chris had the 'Urban Guild' which had a pulled pork and pineapple topping and he said that it was outstanding and full of flavour and we shared some chips that were arguably the nicest chunky chips I have had in the longest time and I'm not really a chip fan. But these.... well, I could of easily devoured some more.Price wise I would say they are priced fairly at £12 for a huge pizza (so huge I actually had to take half home)You would pay more than this at a chain restaurant with no the sea view. The atmosphere is just so chilled and it was really busy, but chilled busy, a nice blend, with lots of laughter and really a busy restaurant speaks volumes doesn't it!!?Also, an awesome thing to mention is that they can cater for customers who are Gluten Free with GF bases and brioche buns and they can even create vegan choices by swapping out the cheese etc...Another couple other lovely touches.1) They allow dogs and so if you have been walking along the beach with your furry friend it's nice to think that you can stop in and have bite to eat and bring the pooch along 2) They had a games shelf, so you could take in a game of snakes and ladders while you wait for your food.3) The do free delivery up to 4 miles for orders over £15 or moreIt was just so very chilled and lovely and we will defiantly be going back, 1) Because I need some more of those chips and 2) I need to now try the 'Dorset' pizza (see menu picture - yum)Thank you to The Wood Oven for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed it.If you want to see more from inside The Wood Oven then check out this week's weekend vlog for more. LoveEm xxBODY SHOP SALE HAUL You know when you go online wanting to buy one thing...
